Ayurvedic home remedies for skin care

  1. Ayurveda suggests coconut oil for facial massage. Another ayurvedic herbal product named as kumkumadi oil is very effective in vata type of skin.
  2. If you are looking at ayurvedic home remedy, then fresh milk cream is the best choice for vata type of people. For better results, add 2 grams of turmeric powder in 10 grams milk cream and apply over the face or skin where it is required. It will aid you make your skin glowing, smooth and healthy. It will decrease dryness and sensitivity of skin as well.
  3. Take 10 grams green gram flour, add coconut oil in it and mix it well. Further add 1 gram of turmeric powder and finally apply over the face. It will reduce dryness or roughness and sensitivity of skin. Furthermore, it improves complexion and glow of skin.

Ayurvedic skin care tips for pitta type skin:
Acne and painful pimples are common in pita type of skin. Therefore, some herbs, which have anti-inflammatory, soothing and coolant effects, are preferable in these this type of skin.

Here are some:

  1. Take sandalwood powder and make a paste with rose water. Apply it over the skin and face and keep this paste over the face at least 30 minutes. Then wash with water. It will soothe the skin and has coolant action. It prevents you from painful and inflammatory acne or pimples. It is also best herbal homemade remedy for acne vulgaris.
  2. Cleansing with rose water is also a good remedy for a pita type of skin.
  3. Multani mitti pack or mask is also beneficial in pitta type of skin. It makes skin radiant and glowing. It prevents acne and pimples. Blemishes are more seen in pitta type of skin. Therefore, multani mitti mask decreases blemishes and improves complexion of skin.

Ayurvedic skin care tips for kapha type skin:

  1. Take barley power and add honey to make a paste. Apply this paste over the skin and wash it after 15 minutes. It aids to remove excess oil and lessens its overproduction.
  2. Take powder of neem leaves (azardirachta indicia) and holy basil leaves. Make paste in with water and honey. Apply it over the face or skin. This ayurvedic face pack is very effective in oily skin and reduces problems associated with it.
  3. Take 2 grams of turmeric, 5 grams of orange peel, and 1 gram of nutmeg powder. Mix these herbal powders in water and apply this paste over the skin. This mixture is very beneficial in kapha type of skin.
